01Report card builder

Design the card. Change anything.

The builder shows your report card exactly as it prints, filled with a real student's marks. Add what you need from the left, click anything on the card to change it on the right, and switch the preview to any student to check their card.

  • Headings, text, course and skills tables, your logo, sections and page breaks.
  • A page header and footer that repeat on every printed page.
  • Fonts, sizes, colors and borders, and sections side by side.
  • Every blank is a field: grades, attendance, teacher comments and, if your school uses it, GPA fill in for each student.

Or say what you want, in plain words.

Not sure where a setting lives? Ask Copilot, for the item you clicked or for the whole card: “add light green stripes to the course table,” “switch to landscape.” It makes the change and tells you what it did. If you don't like it, press Undo.

  • Choose This element or Whole card before you ask.
  • Copilot's reply says what it changed.
  • Undo puts the card back the way it was.
  • Nothing is saved until you press Save.

Bring the card you already use.

Upload the PDF report card you use today and AI rebuilds it as an editable card in a few minutes, checking its work against a real student. Or describe the look you want and pick from four designs built around your own classes and terms. Every way ends in the same builder, where you can change anything.

  • Anything MarkTrack doesn't have is listed in review notes, not invented.

04Print and send

One card, a class or the whole school.

Publish the card when it reads right. Download a PDF for one student, or a zip with a PDF for every student in a class or the whole year. Or email every family their own children's cards: a review step shows who gets an email, and each card, before anything is sent.

  • Only published cards can be downloaded or sent.
  • A family with several children gets one email with each child's card.
  • The review lists families who won't get an email, so you can follow up.
  • The card keeps working next year when the new year has the same terms.

When the table answers your question, take it with you. Download the report as a PDF or a spreadsheet, or send the Progress Report straight to parents.

  • Download a PDF named for the report, the school and the day.
  • Export a CSV or Excel spreadsheet with every row of the table, in the order you sorted it.
  • Send each family its own children's Progress Report, with a message the office writes.

Save a report and its filters under your account. Reopening it runs the report against current data, so the view you rely on stays useful as your school moves forward.

  • Keep a personal saved list under the Saved button.

Can our report card look like the one we use now?

Yes. Upload the PDF you use today and AI rebuilds it as an editable card in a few minutes. Anything your card asks for that MarkTrack doesn't have is listed in review notes rather than invented, so check the draft against a couple of students before you publish.

Do teachers type grades onto the card?

No. Every blank on the card is a field that fills itself in for each student: term and year grades, attendance, teacher comments and, if your school uses it, GPA. The same card keeps working next year when the new year has the same terms.

Can we email report cards to families?

Yes. Send report cards emails each family its own children's cards, after a review step that shows who gets an email and what each card looks like. You can also download a PDF for one student or a zip for a class or the whole year.

Do reports use live school data?

Yes. Reports query the records already in MarkTrack. A saved report stores its configuration and re-runs against current data when reopened.

Can we take a report out of MarkTrack?

Yes. Download any report as a PDF or as a spreadsheet (CSV or Excel). The spreadsheet holds every row of the table, in the order you sorted it.

Are saved reports shared with every admin?

No. Saved reports belong to the admin who saved them. Other admins have their own saved lists.

Does every report offer the same filters?

No. Controls depend on the report. Some reports use time periods and thresholds; a directory or profile may not need date filters.
