01A better roll call

Less time taking attendance. More time teaching.

Open your class, choose the day and mark the roster in a familiar grid. Whether your program meets every weekday or just on Sundays, your register follows the days you actually teach.

  • Choose whole-school daily attendance or separate registers for each class.
  • Set class meeting days and move between dates without rebuilding your roster.
  • Review a class over a date range and export its attendance report.

02Your school's rules

Attendance should fit your school.

An online lesson, an excused late arrival and an ordinary school day are different things. Give each school its own statuses and rules so your records describe what actually happened.

  • Create named, color-coded statuses and decide how they count toward attendance.
  • Choose which statuses students may select for themselves.
  • Protect past attendance with date locks and keep each school's setup independent.
Custom statuses let each school choose its labels, colors and attendance rules.

03Shared responsibility

Let students check in. Keep teachers in control.

Enable self-marking for students with their own login, or appoint a trusted student to take a class register. Every mark keeps its source visible, and staff retain the final say.

  • Students mark their own attendance for today in the school's timezone.
  • Optionally allow a limited window for earlier days.
  • Appoint class attendance takers with standing or date-limited access.
  • A staff mark locks that entry for students; teachers can correct student marks.

04The bigger picture

Meet your Attendance Command Center.

Move from a school-wide pattern to the student behind it. One workspace connects absence requests, attendance records, student trends and teacher compliance, with year and term filters for a useful view of the school.

  • Review trends, attendance rates and status breakdowns in the overview.
  • Approve or reject family requests with notes and request history in view.
  • Inspect student records and see which teachers have completed attendance.

05Keep families informed

The right follow-up starts with a clear record.

Families can request an absence, late arrival or early departure. Staff review it in the same attendance workflow, while configurable alerts help the right people stay informed.

  • Configure email and SMS attendance alerts, subject to school settings and SMS availability.
  • Choose which admins receive absence requests and enable reminders for older pending requests.
  • Student marks remain distinguishable from staff marks; parent absence alerts are triggered by staff marking.

Can each school use different attendance rules?

Yes. Attendance modes, custom statuses, student self-marking and related controls are configured per school. A weekday academy and a weekend program can use different setups within one organization.

Can students overwrite a teacher's attendance mark?

No. Once a teacher or admin marks an entry, the student cannot change it. Staff can review and correct student self-marks or attendance-taker entries.

Can parents explain an absence before school?

Yes. Families can submit absence requests, including multiple days, late arrivals and early departures. Staff review requests and record the decision in the attendance workflow.
