Nobody is left guessing about a bill

This release is mostly about telling families things we were quietly deciding without them.

Pickup codes are emailed to the family. When you issue a family their code for the sign-out screen at the door, MarkTrack now emails it to them with instructions. You no longer have to catch each parent at pickup to read it out.

Cancelling an invoice now tells the family. Before, if you cancelled a bill, the family never heard about it — some kept paying an invoice the school had already written off. Now they get an email saying it was cancelled, and the link in that email opens the right page instead of a login screen.

Emails and reports no longer stall after an update. Work MarkTrack does quietly in the background — sending emails, building reports, charging cards on schedule — used to pause when we released an update. It keeps running now.

A big clean-up of school email, plus two of the slowest pages in MarkTrack.

Admins can change someone's login email. If a parent or teacher's email address was entered wrong, or they've simply changed it, an admin can now correct the address they sign in with — from that person's profile, without support. Everyone who can see the change is told about it.
Both parents' children show on the Parents list. A second guardian used to appear on the Parents list with no children next to their name, even when they were on the same family. Their children are listed now.

Attachments and links in school emails work. A file attached to a school email could not be opened, and links sometimes landed on the wrong page. Both are fixed.
Messaging a class reaches the parents too. Choosing a class as the audience for an announcement sent it only to the students in it. It now reaches their households as well.
A campus's student count stays the same wherever you look. The number of students shown for a campus changed depending on which school you happened to be viewing at the time. It now counts the same way everywhere.

Large email sends are paced so they actually arrive. Emailing the whole school at once used to trip our mail provider's limits, and some families silently got nothing. MarkTrack now sends in a steady stream, retries anything the provider pushes back on, and shows you plainly which messages failed.
Settings and Gradebooks open much faster. Two of the heaviest pages in MarkTrack were doing far more work than they needed to, especially at schools with many classes. Both now open quickly no matter how large the school is.

Text message packs are sold at cost. We do not make money on SMS. A pack is priced at exactly what the carrier charges us, plus the card fee we are charged to sell it to you — nothing on top.

iPhone notifications are working again. Push notifications to iPhones had stopped being delivered. They are back, and they no longer depend on a setting that quietly expired on us.
Correcting a parent's email fixes it everywhere. Fixing a typo in a parent's address used to update one copy of it and leave the rest, so the welcome email still went to the wrong place. One correction now moves every copy.
The keypad at the door works again. The PIN screen families use to sign a child in and out had stopped accepting codes on some devices. It works again, and the wording now matches everywhere.
Cancelling an import really cancels it. Leaving the import screen halfway used to leave the import quietly running. It now stops, and the screen tells you honestly where it got to.

Switching schools keeps you where you were. If your account covers more than one school, switching used to throw you back to the dashboard every time. You now stay on the page you were reading.

The largest release of the month: importing families, discounts that repeat, and billing hundreds of families in one go.

Import your families from any spreadsheet. Every school arrives with a list of families, and every list is laid out differently. Upload yours exactly as it is — an AI reads it, shows you the families and children it found, and creates the accounts once you have checked them. Nothing is created without your approval.
Discount codes that repeat every month. A discount code can now apply to every month of a payment plan instead of only the first charge — for staff children, hardship arrangements, or an early-bird rate that runs all year.
Change the payment schedule for hundreds of families at once. Moving everybody's tuition to a new date used to mean opening each family in turn. You can now select a few hundred families, make the change once, and watch it apply family by family — anything that changed underneath you is reported rather than quietly overwritten.
One due date across a batch of invoices. When you create invoices for many families at once, you can set a single due date for all of them instead of correcting each bill afterwards.

Dates follow your school's clock. Attendance days, report dates and billing dates were sometimes worked out from our clock instead of yours, so schools a few hours ahead of us could see the date change at the wrong moment. Every date now follows your school's own time zone.
Select all, then untick a few. Ticking "select all" on a long list of families and then unticking a handful used to submit the wrong set. It now sends exactly who you left ticked, and tells you how many that is.

A sign-out screen for the front desk. Put a tablet at the door. A parent signs their child out on it themselves, and every departure is recorded with the time and the name of the person who collected the child.
Payment schedules on a single grid. Set up a repeating tuition schedule — who pays, how much, on which day of the month — and see the whole year laid out on one screen instead of one invoice at a time.
Offer a sibling discount on your enrollment form. A family enrolling more than one child can be shown the sibling discount as they apply, rather than being credited after the fact.
Your school can have its own web address. Schools can now be given their own address, like yourschool.marktrack.com, so families arrive at your sign-in page rather than a general one.

Resetting a payment account no longer breaks the billing page. Disconnecting and reconnecting a school's payment account used to leave its billing screen unusable. It recovers cleanly now.

See how your school uses the mobile app. A simple picture of which parts of the phone app your teachers and parents actually open, so you know what is working and what nobody has found yet.

Notifications stay inside the right school. On accounts covering several schools, a notification could appear for staff at a school it did not concern. Each notification now stays with the school it belongs to.

"Remember me" now lasts 30 days. Ticking "remember me" keeps you signed in for a month instead of asking for your password again after a few days.
