Canadian Islamic schools tend to be several institutions wearing one name. A full-time academy from kindergarten upward, a Saturday programme for families who cannot commit to full-time, and a Hifz stream running through both — usually serving overlapping families, usually billed separately, usually tracked in three different places.

Each programme is its own school inside a single organization, with its own students, teachers, classes, timetable and tuition rates. What a family sees is one login covering every child in every programme, and one invoice.

This sounds like a small thing until you have tried to do it with software that assumes one school per account, at which point it becomes the reason the office keeps a parallel spreadsheet. Per-campus rates mean the academy and the weekend programme can charge completely differently without anyone reconciling them by hand.

Attendance that respects your timezone

Every organization carries its own timezone and attendance dates are computed in it. For a school in Alberta or British Columbia this is not a detail — it is the difference between an evening class being recorded on the right day and being recorded on the next one.

Report cards you can shape

Provincial expectations vary, and families expect a report that looks like the one their neighbours get. Report cards are configurable through the report builder, including narrative and non-numeric grading, so you can produce something in the format your community expects rather than accept a fixed template designed for a different system.

Hifz progress can appear on the report card itself. Sabaq, sabqi and manzil are recorded daily with juz-by-juz progress and a projected completion date, and parents can see it live in the portal and the native iPhone and Android apps rather than waiting for the report.

Enrolment and re-registration

The annual re-registration cycle is where multi-programme schools lose the most time. What to check before you commit

Tuition and fees are processed in US dollars. Everything else — attendance, gradebook, report cards, Hifz and Qāʿidah tracking, enrolment forms, communications and the parent apps — works normally. Some Canadian schools run MarkTrack for the academic and communication side while collecting fees through their existing arrangement. If billing in Canadian dollars is a requirement rather than a preference, tell us before you start rather than after you have imported your families.
